Starting March 18, 2019, Tartu College is prepared to offer an employment opportunity for the position of HANDYMAN.
This position will primarily include the ongoing activities of repairing and upgrading the student residence suites (kitchens, washrooms and bedrooms). In addition, there will be maintenance work to be done in other areas of the building, indoors and outdoors.
Entry level skills required to do work in following areas: carpentry, dry walling, plastering, painting, basic plumbing repairs and other maintenance related work.
Position requires physical activities as snow removal, heavy lifting etc.
It will also include assisting in other areas of the Tartu College environment, when there are supporting or maintenance activities required.
The position of Handyman is based on a 40-hour work week.
Wages will be dependent on personal skills.
In addition, Tartu College will offer 2 week vacation annually (first 5 years), 6 sick days, 2 personal days, and after a 90-day trial period a membership in Tartu College’s staff Extended Health Benefits Plan.
This position will be reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, who will be establishing Handyman’s work agendas and priorities at Tartu College.
